In the weeks ahead, more of Trump’s allies are expected to join Trump in court, according to a Trump campaign official. The job market might look solid on paper — unemployment is low, job openings are high — but the reality for many Americans on the job hunt tells a different story. "I just think the numbers are underselling how hard it is for job seekers right now." Economists and recruiters say lingering expectations from the "great resignation" and businesses' fears about an imminent recession could be to blame for job seekers' malaise. "How people feel about the job market is informed by their recent experiences with the job market," Glassdoor chief economist Daniel Zhao recently told CNBC. So even if 2024 is shaping up to be a relatively healthy labor market by recent comparison, it doesn't feel quite as strong."

TRENTON, N.J. Zdan joins a GOP field that is quickly filling with candidates, including Mendham Borough Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner and southern New Jersey businessman Curtis Bashaw on the GOP side. New Jersey has not elected a Republican to the U.S. Senate since 1972, but Republicans are hoping the turmoil surrounding Menendez gives them a pickup opportunity in the narrowly divided chamber. He's vowed to fight the charges, though many of his fellow Democrats have abandoned him and some have said he should resign. When Amanda Serrano trains for a championship fight, she often spars with men for at least a dozen three-minute rounds, using the standard male regulation format to push her athleticism to the edge. But when she gets into the ring for real, the fight goes for only 10 two-minute rounds, the standard for women’s boxing. On Friday she will compete in the first women’s title fight in 15 years that has been sanctioned under men’s rules, and only the second one ever. It will also be the biggest, as title belts from three of the four major boxing sanctioning organizations will be up for grabs. “We’re able to showcase it on a worldwide stage,” Serrano said.

Barclays is a good pick as the U.S. consumer business receives fair recognition and investment banking picks up, according to Morgan Stanley. Analyst Alvaro Serrano upgraded shares of the bank, which trade in London, to overweight from equal weight. The bank's U.S.-listed shares trade under the ticker BCS. Serrano said Barclays is "quietly gaining more scale" in the U.S. credit card business, which can improve its profitability gap compared with competitors. While the cards and investment banking business have low multiples, Serrano said that the earnings upgrades will ultimately push the stock higher.

CNN —Spain’s National Court has admitted the complaint made against former soccer chief Luis Rubiales for “the crimes of sexual assault and coercion” by Spanish prosecutors, according to a court press release issued on Monday. The admittance of the prosecutor’s complaint – part of the Spanish legal process – allows the court to begin gathering evidence, which could lead to possible charges against Rubiales, who resigned from his position as president of country’s soccer federation (RFEF) on Sunday. The unwanted kiss on Hermoso sparked condemnation in Spain and led to widespread calls for Rubiales to resign from his role as RFEF president.
